Deep content for better search engine rankings - what's that?

Deep content for better search engine rankings.

When the search engine robot spiders your page(s), it will determine the strength of your page by examining a number of key criteria. These include:-

  •   the keywords used in your <META> tags
  •   the <META> description of your web pages
  •   the <TITLE> tag of your web pages
  •   the number of times a particular keyword occurs on each page
  •   the quality of the text on your pages
  •   the number of incoming links to that page
  •   the number of outgoing links to other pages on the site
  •   the relevancy of your pages to your site content.

Deep content is a term used by SEO experts and professionals to describe the positioning of these 'keywords' within the page.

When writing pages, try and use well-constructed prose that is of interest to your reader but that re-uses 'keywords' that are relevant to your business. This is deep content. Remember not to spam the page with a load of unnecessary instances of the keywords or you'll be penalised! Deep content is about good prose, good construction, good positioning within that prose and reasonable repetition of a keyword within a page or pages. Remember that deep content can be expressed as plain text or as hyperlinked text to another page on your web site.

The word 'deep' appears 6 times on this page and has a density of 1.79%. The word 'content' appears 7 times and has a density of 2.09%. All instances of the word occur within normal prose, in context, and make sense to the reader. This is average - neither poorly written nor excellent. To see how this could be improved, click here.
